deck garden

So we let M&M plant seeds in March... didn't really think that anything would come of them. Well, as would be our luck, when we think something will work it won't and when we don't think it'll work, they TAKE OFF! After having most of our 72 seeds take off, giving a bunch away, planting them in the greenhouse (that we had to buy to fit them all), and then transplanting them into pots, this is what we have. It should be a great time harvesting! I have a feeling pumpkin hunting is going to be different this year- we'll be "hunting" on our deck!!!

Shock!

I am facing a day of disbelief... how is it that one day you're in high school, the next day you get married and have kids the next and in what feels like a blink your little girl is going to girl's camp?!?! I don't get it...

We spent Saturday getting her all the supplies that she needed for the week- including new clothes because she is growing- YAY!! Finished the day with a cute new haircut that makes her look way older than I am ready for. I know that this is how it's supposed to be, but can it slow down a little?

So back to today... we start the day with a dual meet, where she does great! Then we hurried home, made her lunch, loaded all her stuff in the car and headed to Church to drop her with the other girls. Lots of other girls... She is the youngest in our ward going and is sooo excited. Her leader gets there, we load her stuff in her car and I ask if she wants me to hang out or if she's ok. She's says "I got this mom", and gives me a hug, with an "I Love You" and then she is off with the other girls.

I only hope that camp is ready for her! I can't wait to hear all of her adventures...

90 what?!?!

There are only a few days each year that hit over 90 degrees, today is one of those days. What do we do when it's that warm? We rejoice in the fact that we have an air conditioner in the sliding door and pray that we don't have to go outside. It sure is pretty to look at though!

In other news, we went to the beach with Brook, Mark, Ally and Brax last night to make s'mores- yummy little critters... nothing better than chocolate, graham crackers and marshmallows. I have to admit that I skip the marshmallow part, how do you s'more??

Pike Place and the 4th

Ok, so I decided that as much as I enjoy reading my family's blogs, I should probably do a better job of keeping up on mine- especially since this is the closest I get to keeping a journal lately.

How quickly life goes by, when I posted last, the boys were finishing their junior year in high school, hadn't applied to colleges and were getting excited to finish school... well, fast forward a year! Oh my heavens, how fast that went! Now, we know that Blake is going into the Navy in January, Carl leaves for the University of Idaho next month, M&M are 1/2 through sixth grade, swim team has more than doubled in size, Jarett is still working on search at Corbis, we have another teenager living with us, and life never seems to slow down.

That is until this weekend. Brook, Mark, Allie, & Braxton came to play for the 4th and this week. We had a BBQ at Pat & Terry's last night, watched Marysville explode, or at least that's what it looks like, and finished the weekend with a trip to the Pike Place Market. Perfect weekend! I absolutely love my family- near and far, and enjoy spending time with them when they are in town... on tap for the rest of the week- bonfire, swimming, and wandering who knows where else!
